With all the things occurring in the world right now, most of us are passing more time at home. It can appear tricky to keep up with a positive lifestyle when your gym in Omaha is closed.
You might have become the teacher, personal chef, and parent in your household. Or you are working from home for a time and struggling to create some normalcy throughout the day.
Throughout these unpredictable times, it can be appealing to devote more time to the couch, checking the news and mindless shows, and likely losing your day-to-day workout routine. We may be passing more time at home, but we can still generate ways to preserve a healthy routine! Here are our preferred effective activities you can work into your updated daily routine to keep active, help your immune system, and keep momentum toward reaching your wellness objectives.
Try Home Workouts
One advantage of spending extra time at home is the adaptability in your daily agenda. Look at your routine. Where can you squeeze in a couple of minutes for a quick workout? A useful sweat session doesn’t need to go on forever to be helpful. As long as your heart rate increases, you will find fat and calorie-burning benefits! Check out our 12-minute home fitness class you can work on anytime, anywhere!
Involve Your Kids in Your Workout
The pools may not be available, but there are still tons of ways to incorporate fun activities your kids will want to do. After all, being active isn’t just for adults! Here are some of our favorite fun (and free!) ways the entire family can spend time as a group:
- Take the dog for a walk
- Bring a frisbee outside in the sunshine (hello Vitamin D!)
- Go for a bike ride or roller skate journey
- Make a floral arrangement with your family’s blooms
- Play ball in your yard
- Grab your sidewalk chalk and make a driveway work of art
- Have a dinner cooking contest
- Turn up the music and have a dance party
Prepare Healthy Meals
Are you doing your best to stay away from grocery shopping? No problem! Now is the time to innovate in the kitchen and employ your family’s canned goods and frozen foods. With the kids out of school, busy days at work, and everyday household chores, keep your mealtimes straightforward this season.
At FXB, we make good nutrition easy for our members. Start with your preferred protein kind from the freezer, choose a carb for a side, and mix in some healthy fat. And there you have it: a healthy meal with little to no fuss. (And if it’s your fun day, call for a pizza and hang at home!)
